Viral infection attacking the respiratory system, the flu kills thousands of people yearly, although there are complex medical treatments for its cure. Certainly, the worldwide tragedies, such as the one in 1918, when the flu killed 50 million people, can be avoided these days. However, each year medicine faces new stems, because the flu virus changes its structure periodically by spontaneous mutations that cannot be either predicted or controlled. Being highly contagious, flu can affect anyone by direct contact with a sick person, or by contact with infected areas and objects. Children, old people and persons with a vulnerable immune system are particularly prone to it.
Symptoms
The flu manifestations are much more aggressive than those of an ordinary cold, including: fever above 38 degrees Celsius, headaches, coughing, fatigue, chills, sweating, loss of appetite, diarrhea and vomiting as far as children are concerned.
Prevention
The doctors recommend a flu prevention treatment in the first place, especially because of the virus’ highly contagious character and because of the frequent mutations it undergoes. By strengthening the immune system, the body protects itself not only against the flu virus but also against other harmful environment factors: other viruses, bacteria, germs, toxins, pollution and sun radiation.
The immune system is a vital component of the body: it protects the organs of the body, assuring the homeostasis necessary for the optimum development of the biological processes. Immunity deficiencies not only expose the body to the harmful environment factors, but also allow the organs get infected by destroying the blood and dermal protective barrier.
The immune deficiencies of the respiratory system are caused by sequelae of old diseases (pneumonia, bronchitis etc.), sensitivity to cold, draught and air conditioning as well as by the long exposure to low temperatures. Once these deficiencies have set in, the risk increases for the respiratory system to contract the flu virus or other categories of viruses.
There is a major decrease in the risk of becoming infected with the flu if treatments for strengthening the immune system are applied. By acupuncture and herb products, the pulmonary oxygenation is improved and the dermal and blood immunity barrier is strengthened. The activity of the thyroid and of the adrenals is increased, because these glands play a major part in the proper function of the immune system. By stimulating the functions of the thyroid and of the adrenals simultaneously, an energy circuit of general protection will be made, which is manifested by an increased production of antibodies. After these revitalizing procedures and the improvement of the hepatic functions, the toxins accumulated in the body will be eliminated much more efficiently.
Thermotherapy (Tibetan fire therapy) is added to the treatment with acupuncture and herbs extracts. In order to activate the metabolism and the pulmonary immunity, we use a herbal cream with a special formula for this kind of procedures. The cream is applied on the patient’s back, on the area of lung projection. A towel is spread on it, medicinal alcohol is poured and then the fire is lighted. The fire is put out when the patient feels the heat inside the organ and the heat has become mildly disturbing.
By this technique, the active substances of the herbs in the cream are sent straight into the sick organ. The heat released from the burning of the medicinal alcohol “opens the way to the organ” for these active substances. As a result, they get to the sick area in unaltered form. The procedure is safe, being practiced in the Tibetan medicine for thousands of years.
